Did you know that because of individuals and families who created planned giving options to last beyond their lifetimes, our community:
· has a number of men and women who have set up endowments that will perpetuate their gifts to the Federation Annual Campaign?
· had sufficient resources to engage in site development and land purchase for the eventual construction of an 80 acre Jewish Community Campus?
· has a college scholarship fund that last year distributed 14 awards?
· has developed a Hebrew Free Loan Association that currently is helping 20 families?
· has funds that provide automatic annual operating funds to specific agencies, and/or educational programming?
· was able to fund special services to new émigrés?
· has the ability to create inter-generational opportunities for parents to teach and transmit their philanthropic values to their children?
All this and more, has been made possible through the Jewish Community Foundation of Princeton Mercer Bucks. Founded in 1964, and affiliated with the United Jewish Federation of Princeton Mercer bucks, this 42 year old organization’s purpose is to build endowments that will ensure a strong and vibrant Jewish community for generations to come. In addition, it serves as the central investment arm, an independent fiduciary, for the Federation and our Jewish community. With approximately $11 million dollars in current and future assets, the Foundation is helping to secure our future.
The endowments, all of which can be structured in a tax-advantageous fashion for the individual donor, can be set up to perpetuate annual campaign giving, reserves for future capital projects, or tailored for specific programs or areas of interest. Such funds can be established not only for the Federation, but for the benefit of any constituent agency, synagogue, or institutions and programs in Israel. They can be funded directly through cash contributions, donated appreciated securities, life insurance, assets from an IRA or pension fund, charitable gift annuities, or bequests.
The Foundation is a service provided to our community to help donors and their families preserve the heritage they care so deeply about, ensure the viability of the institutions that make this the kind of Jewish Community that we built our lives around, and help to provide the type of environment and opportunities we want for our children and grandchildren.
